Networking is considered as one of the most important tools to acquire new business and build new engagements for long-term and short-term goals. A lot of professionals have used the art of networking to their advantage yet there are many who are still not adept at that. This episode features two women Preeti Prayag and Meera Raghunandan, co-founders of Mentoring Matters who have been driving a lot of initiatives to help women professionals network effectively. Meera says that the things like networking and mentoring, all of that seems to be a little extra for the women and they don’t seem to focus on that as much as men seem to take a very long-term view of their career. Preeti feels that its more to do with the way women plan things – when they are younger, they feel that they have to spend more of their personal time on this so these things become less of priority but in reality, that’s not so it just can become a habit as you practice day to day basis and start coming very naturally.
It is the right time for women professionals to focus on mentoring and coaching.
